Then college, a teaching career and starting a family kept me away. Life's little happenings drew me back to Caseville as an adult and I fell in love with it all over again. Memories came flooding back and all I wanted to do was be there. It was my happy place.
While in Caseville I loved to frequent the downtown shops and restaurants. Owning a business had always been a dream of mine, but seemed so out of reach. In 2005, I received a necklace for my birthday. A little gold wishbone affixed to a thin string. The idea behind it was to make a wish after placing it on and then wearing it always, never taking it off. Eventually that string will grow weak and break and your wish should come true.
Of course, my wish was to own a small business someday. You can never be too old to dream and wish, right? Not sure if I helped the wish along or if that wish helped me, but 3 months later, on the day my sister TJ and I took possession of the building on Main Street in downtown Caseville, my necklace broke! And this was how the Lemon Tree was born. :)
